Who Can See a Particular Content Module or Topic?

If you use release conditions to plan an individualized learning path through your course content, you can see which topics a particular student can see by viewing that student's progress report:
  • On the Classlist, click on the Progress Report icon () for a student.
  • Click the Change button and choose the Content tool and click Apply.

  • The page shows a list of all content modules and topics - a closed eye next to a module/topic name indicates that particular student cannot see that particular module or topic

Email Students Who Have Not Yet Taken a Quiz

Desire2Learn does not have an easy way to grade all of the students who have not yet taken a quiz via the Quizzes tool, but this can be done from Grades.

Grade scheme colors

Interested in making your A-F grade scheme use the same color as the default percentage scheme? This image shows D2L's color names from the available palette:
The bottom range (0-60%) is Pippin. The next range (starting at 60%) is Seashell Pink. Starting at 70% is Apricot White, from 80% is Hint of Green, and the top range (starting at 90%) is Periwinkle Gray.

*There are 20 colors available to customize your color grade scheme.

Print Discussion Messages

Desire2Learn now offers a way to collect several discussion messages on a printer-friendly window:
  • You must look at your discussion in grid style, not reading style (choose this option on the Discussion Settings page).
  • You can search for messages first, or select "All Messages" on the View menu to get a list of messages that can be sorted by any of the column headings (subject, author, or date).
  • Click in the check box for one or more messages to select them.
  • Click the printer icon: View selected messages as printable.
Collecting messages like this can only be done one discussion topic at a time. [VIDEO DEMO]

Embedded Content and Google Chrome

The Google Chrome browser handles web pages with mixed secure and insecure content in a subtle way that might frustrate users who encounter it. For Desire2Learn, this occurs when insecure content is embedded. The linked video shows a couple of ways to handle this.
